Service Director for Children’s Health & Wellbeing (Up to £107k)
Our Service Director for Children’s Health & Wellbeing is one of the four senior roles that comprise Together for Families - Cornwall Council’s new Integrated Children’s Services Directorate. The post holder is also a member of the Council Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Strategic Director for Children, Schools & Families who is our system-wide lead for Children’s Services across Education, Health and Social Care for the whole of Cornwall.
You will be responsible for bringing forward new ideas and working with health colleagues to improve outcomes for children, delivering on the Council’s obligations to promote public health outcomes, ensuring sufficiency of provision to improve outcomes in the early years foundation stage and for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. In addition, you will lead the integration strategy for children, young people and their families and further enhancing integrated working.
You will lead a team of 350 staff undertaking the following functions:
Children’s Community Health Services (Health Visiting, School Nursing and Specialist Speech & Language Therapy)
Early Years Foundation Stage Services
Special Education Needs & Disability (SEND) Service
Children’s Psychology Services
Business Support & Administration.
